Finally scientists stand up for themselves

Finally some people who stand up for science and general common sense.

Is there something I'm missing here?

In a recent poll 70 per cent of Australians think the Coalition Government was aware of AWB kickbacks to the former Iraqi regime, yet 55 per cent of respondents did not have a less favourable view of the Government as a result of the AWB scandal.

This means that there is at least 15% of Australians who are happy with an Australian company paying bribes to a dictator that they were at war with. Huh?

A quote from Billy Connolly

A quote from Billy Connolly from his appearance on the ABC last night.

"John Howard's only function is to let you know what Harry Potter's going to look like when he's old. I would go miles to avoid meeting him. What a boring little man."

I think that is the nicest thing I have every heard anyone say about Johnny.

Political Rant

Just a simple observation that I have made over the last few weeks. It seems rather hypocritical that the US wants to take Iran to the UN Security Council one day but ignores the UN the next day when a report calls for the camp at Guantanamo Bay to be immediately closed.

Wollangambe Crater

After one week of being engaged I figured it was about time for some alone time. So while Aleisha and her sister (Trudy) were off looking at wedding stuff I went tramping. The trip was to the Wollangambe crater which I had been wanting to visit for quite awhile, but due to the fact that I cant figure out which way is North on a compass and that the track is pretty rough in parts I had to wait for the experts to be going. Jarrod and Adelle led the way clearing the spiders and snakes and I followed.
After 10km of hauling a 20kg pack (some one really needs to invent dehydrated wine) we arrived at the crater. Much to my disappointment there were no Wombats or snakes but I did manage to see a couple of Sugar Gliders. Unfortunately my camera is useless at night (I was also quite drunk) so the photos are not the best.
All and all a very good trip.

The campsite in the crater.

It wouldn’t be a trip to somewhere with flowing water with me trying a long exposure photo.

Believe it or not this is a Sugar Glider.

The story so far...

Well as most of you know Aleisha and I recently got engaged and I figured what better way to mark this occasion than with a BLOG.
